DfT warning to car loans customers and all drivers
Jan 6 2009Drivers must consider a number of things before purchasing vehicles such as whether or not they need secured or unsecured Car Loans - now the Department for Transport (DfT) has urged them to go green.
A scheme dubbed ACT ON CO2 has been launched by the government arm, which aims to inform consumers looking at cars for sale how they can opt for an environmentally-friendly model.
In a statement released this week, transport minister Andrew Adonis addressed all car buyers, including those with Guaranteed Car Loans, by saying that those searching for new vehicles in 2009 should consider what the future fuel costs and CO2 emission levels will be.
He added that he hoped the DfT initiative would "encourage individuals and businesses to look for an economical car whilst supporting the industry and stimulating widespread environmental change".
The department also launched a road safety scheme at the end of 2008 - a move aimed at highlighting the dangers young people face on the UK's roads.
