Drivers look to upgrade used cars
Nov 27 2008More than six million UK motorists intend to make several upgrades to their vehicles over the next 12 months, research suggests.
According to a survey by Kwik-Fit, drivers are increasingly seeking to make their used cars look and feel like new rather than apply for Car Loans to buy a more recent model.
As a result, they are turning to alternative measures to enhance their existing ones, including fitting alloy wheels, high performance exhausts and satellite navigation systems.
The most popular technique amongst those surveyed was to have their vehicle regularly serviced to improve performance, which could prove valuable when they come to sell on their used cars.
"There are many ways that motorists can upgrade their vehicle to make it feel like new, and at the same time increase the residual value when they eventually sell it on," Kwik-Fit customer services director David White confirmed.
Eurotax Glass's revealed the results of research into the UK's slowest-depreciating cars this week, with the MINI 1.4TD topping the list.
