Many female drivers are putting their lives at risk for the sake of a long, fashionable fringe, according to a new study.
A poll by Sheilas' Wheels found that 67 per cent of female drivers quizzed have a hairstyle which can fall over their eyes when at the wheel, potentially causing an accident.
Car Loans and Car Finance customers may be interested to know that 190,000 women have had an accident recently due to their hair getting in their eyes, with only 21 per cent of those asked saying they secure their hair before driving.
Sheilas' Wheels' Jacky Brown said: "Not many women think of their hair as a potential driving distraction, but with the latest trends all requiring styling around the face and eyes, it's essential that female motorists are aware of this safety issue."
Last summer, research by the company found that only 18 per cent of female drivers buy sunglasses specifically for driving.
