Touring car racer Mattias Ekstrom won the 2007 Race of Champions at Wembley Stadium on Sunday (December 16th) in front of over 50,000 fans.
Spectators at the event, potentially including Car Loans customers, saw Ekstrom, who races for the AUDI team in the German touring car series, beat seven times Formula one champion Michael Schumacher to the title in a three-heat final.
The event saw racing drivers from a wide range of disciplines, including David Coulthard, Jenson Button and Petter Solberg, compete for the 2007 title. A national competition was won by Germany, which had Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel in the team.
Ekstrom said: "For me, Michael Schumacher is one of the world's greatest drivers. To beat him in the same equipment is an incredible experience I won't forget for a long time."
The Swede also won last year's event, which was held at Paris' Stade de France.
