More and more vehicles are coming equipped with Bosch start/stop technology to help reduce fuel consumption, a report suggests.
Car buyers applying for secured Car Loans to help fund the purchase of their next vehicle are becoming increasingly aware of the rising costs of motoring as the credit crunch bites.
One of the major outgoings arises as a result of increased fuel costs, and many are therefore looking to reduce their consumption.
Bosch stop/start technology helps to improve fuel economy, as well as reduce emissions, by cutting the engine when the vehicle is stationary, before firing it into life again once the driver depresses the clutch pedal.
It is already a regular fixture in cars produced by BMW, MINI and Kia, and next year FIAT will become the latest manufacturer to make use of the model in its 500 model.
Car Finance customers looking to cut back on fuel costs and reduce their impact on the environment are therefore likely to enjoy a wider range of choice as more and more vehicles begin to feature the system.
Fiat recently announced that the 2.5 per cent VAT cut announced by Alistair Darling meant its 500 city car was now available for less than £8,000.
