Future loans customers 'breathalysed at driving school'
Future loans customers 'breathalysed at driving school'
Dec 13 2007
A Derbyshire driving school is to introduce breathalyser tests to check if pupils are over the legal alcohol limit.
Car Loans customers may like to know that the Derby Driving School has bought eight of the hand-held devices in a bid to clamp down on drivers who have alcohol in their bloodstream, the BBC reports.
School owner Malcolm Spencer said he was worried about those drivers who may have alcohol in their bloodstream from the previous night. Future Car Credit and Car Finance deals may be affected after a drink drive conviction.
Mr Spencer told the news provider: "It is an opportunity to teach the pupils about alcohol and driving because we are not just teaching them to pass their driving test, you are teaching them to drive safely for the rest of their lives."
Research published earlier this week by Green Flag found that 45 per cent of young drivers admit to driving less than 12 hours after a night spent drinking alcohol.
