Michael Jackson's former bodyguard clocked speeding
Feb 24 2009The former bodyguard of legendary pop icon Michael Jackson has been caught exceeding the speed limit by more than 30 miles per hour in north Devon.
Matt Fiddes, a martial arts expert, was spotted by police in his MERCEDES SL350 near Knowstone, travelling at 92 mph, the North Devon Journal reports.
The 29-year-old admitted to speeding at a hearing in Barnstaple last month, resulting in a fine and six points on his driver's licence rather than a ban, Car Credit customers may be interested to read.
Defence lawyer Lawrence Overend said that Fiddes felt shame for his crime, especially as he liked to be a role model for youngsters.
Magistrate James Waldon said: "I can see Mr Fiddes has been very honest on his means form, and judging by that even if we did impose a ban, Mr Fiddes could easily af FORD to employ a chauffeur to drive him around."
In a recent interview featuring in the Daily Mail, media magnate Piers Morgan said that he has never had a criminal record but has at times been "done for speeding".
