Car loan customers shopping for a new car could be interested in the results of a new survey suggesting French cars score low satisfaction ratings.

Research by Which? Car on different models found six of the bottom ten vehicles were French, which could assist drivers recently approved a new car loan.

The RENAULT Espace was at the bottom of the pile after registering a score of 61 per cent, with the same manufacturer behind three cars in the bottom five.

Which? Car reports: " PEUGEOT didn't fare much better, with two cars in the bottom ten, and CITROEN had one."

The Porsche Boxter sports car was ranked in first place with drivers giving it an average rating of 98 per cent satisfaction.

Japanese cars fared well, Which Car? added, scoring seven of the top ten places in the poll.

The Prius, produced by Japanese firm TOYOTA was recently revealed as the highest scoring individual model in this year's UK Customer Satisfaction Index study.
