Some Car Finance customers could change their holiday plans after figures revealed Spain has the cheapest diesel price in Europe.
Figures from the Post Office also reveal Spain has the best value hire car mileage rates, which could impress car finance customers keen on motoring abroad.
The same statistics also show Switzerland is the only country in Europe where unleaded petrol is less than £1 per litre.
Post Office said: "The differential between unleaded petrol and diesel was most marked in the UK and Sweden, with diesel costing 13p and 16p per litre more respectively."
Fuel prices in Spain are also around 30 per cent lower than popular UK tourist destinations Belgium and the Netherlands, according to the firm's Motoring on the Continent report.
Turkey, often seen as the place to go for a cheaper break, is only fifth on the list of best value car hire rates.
Average UK fuel prices stood at 117.2p for a litre of unleaded and 130.5p per litre of diesel on Wednesday June 11th, according to petrolprices.com.
