Valentine's rush expected for personal number plates
Jan 26 2009A number of unsecured Car Loans customers searching for the perfect Valentine's gift for their other half are expected to log onto the DVLA personalised registrations service in the coming weeks.
The association claims that one in five number plates are bought as gifts and is anticipating a surge in the number of loved-up motorists purchasing specialised plates this Valentine's Day.
Top of the list for February are registrations including MY09 LUV and MR09 MRS.
However, Car Finance customers will also be able to add a more personal touch by using the online facility to enter their own search criteria.
Damian Lawson, marketing manager for DVLA personalised registrations, said the service will make life even easier for new and used car owners in search of the perfect gift.
"While the regular plates featuring Xs and K155 are there to be had, the new search system ensures that extra personal touch - in a flash," he commented.
DVLA personalised registrations offers a database of more than 30 million registrations, with prices starting from £245.
