Veteran film star sued over crash
Feb 27 2009Veteran actor Morgan Freeman is being sued by a woman who was riding in his car with him when he crashed last year.
Demaris Meyer, aged 48, was travelling with the 71-year-old after a dinner party at the Bayou Bend Golf and Country Club in August last year.
Car loan customers may be interested to read that Ms Meyer is suing for her injuries, which included a torn labrum, bruises and cuts.
The Academy Award-winning actor suffered several broken bones when he lost control of the car at around 23:30 local time.
Commenting on the accident, Ms Meyer said that it changed her life "in every respect".
"I sustained numerous injuries. I was unconscious following the accident ... I could not take care of myself for several months," she stated, adding that she had not been able to return to work since and is suffering "physically and emotionally".
Freeman rose to fame in hit films such as Driving Miss Daisy and the Shawshank Redemption.
