Car Finance customers could be falling in love with MAZDA models after the firm reported a good sales month.
The company said last month was its best-ever May with 3,969 models sold, which could interest drivers who used car finance to buy a Mazda recently.
Retail sales were up 17.8 per cent for the firm in May, but fleet sales for the manufacturer reduced, possibly because of increased competition in the sector.
Mazda UK managing director Rob Lindley said: "Growing our sales over 2007 is some achievement in a tough environment and it gives us confidence going forward."
He added the firm's strategy of pursuing lightweight construction and fuel efficiency from conventional engines could be prompting the sales successes.
Mazda also said sales of the Mazda3 and Mazda6 models were helping to spur the impressive figures.
The company also builds the MX-5 sports car, which is available with a soft top or retractable hard top.
