Gullwings Are Back On Mercedes SLS AMG
Oct 29 2009Does anyone remember the MERCEDES 300 SL 1954? That was the car on which Mercedes introduced the gullwing doors. Now Mercedes seems to have found the old plans and reintroduced them in the amazing Mercedes SLS AMG. There are some amazing ´firsts´ introduced in the Mercedes SLS AMG. The aluminum chassis weighs just 531lbs. The car´s double clutch allows the car to be driven in four different modes which are, normal, sport, sport plus and manual. Every A MG engine is hand built and bears the signature of the person responsible. The engine is a normally aspirated 6.2L with a power output of 571bhp.
The car hits sixty two miles per hour in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 192mph. The car is neither retro nor ultra-modern; there is a certain presence that it creates and some of the looks are contemporary. Driving the Mercedes SLS AMG is exhilarating and the car is extremely sure footed. The Mercedes SLS AMG is expected to go on sale in spring 2010 and there must be a lot of car enthusiasts lining up to get one.
