Car finance buyers can now look forward to a brand new A-class Mercedes Benz that will be released at the beginning of next year. The concept car will be the same size as a Volkswagen Golf and is expected to give the A-Class series a new injection of life.
Mercedes has been looking for a replacement for the current A-Class for a long time. It simply did not have the sporty, youthful image they wanted in order to compete with rivals such as the BMW 1-Series, the Audi A3 and, of course, the Volkswagen Golf.
They believe they have found what they were looking for in the new Concept A-Class. The car will debut at the Shanghai Motor Show later in April. First reports indicate that it has such a sporty look it could even rival the Volkswagen Scirocco in the car finance market!
The car was inspired by the F800 concept. Creases are sharp and overhangs at the front and back are short. The grille is wide and the three-pointed star is very prominent. What makes it stand out even more are the metallic hexagons that radiate out from the edges.
The final effect is perfected by alloy wheels and wing-shaped LED lights. The latter will be fitted with daytime running lamps that incorporate no less than 90 optical fibres.
The car will be powered via the front wheels using a turbocharged 4-cylinder 2-litre petrol engine delivering 207bph. The transmission will use a dual-clutch system.
Ford has not announced any official figures yet, but the car is expected to deliver a 0-60mph acceleration time of less than seven seconds, a top speed of 150 miles per hour, CO2 emission levels of about 150g/km and fuel consumption of 45 miles per gallon.
Car finance buyers who want to know the price of the new car will have to wait for Mercedes to make an announcement.
