UK car credit buyers who are also Mercedes fans will no doubt love the following bit of news: Mercedes is once again going black! A new pumped up version of the C-Class is on the way. The new C63 AMG Black Series will be faster, lighter and meaner-looking.
If you expect the new car to be available in the saloon version, you are going to be disappointed though. According to press reports only the three-door coupe will get the Black Series treatment.
Autoexpress.co.uk recently revealed pictures of the new car in saloon form. This is simply the manufacturer's way of distracting attention while the car is still in its test phase. The modest saloon body hides a very powerful power train. The new car will feature extended wheel arches to give it a wider track both at the front and the rear. To reduce weight, it will feature carbon-fibre body panels - slashing the weight of the car by at least 100kg.
The engine driving the new C63 will be the same one UK car credit buyers have learned to love in the standard car. Its power output has been boosted to a fiery 513bhp though - putting it on par with the C63 DR520 special edition.
The reduced body weight of the new car will give it sensational performance. It should be even faster than its predecessor, the 2008 CLK Black series, which was no sluggard with acceleration figures of 0-62 miles per hour in 4.3 seconds
UK car credit buyers will need deep pockets to buy this one - the price is expected to be well over £100 000.
