MG fans could be reassured by the news the marque's Chinese owner is insisting production of the new TF is on track.

Some MG lovers could be holding out on getting a new car loan for a fresh purchase until new TF models are available again.

Chinese owner of the MG brand Nanjing said it remained committed to the car's Longbridge plant in the west Midlands.

An NAC statement quoted by Autocar read: "Our vehicle and engine test programmes are delivering very positive results."

The eventual re-arrival of the TF could have some followers of the model chasing car loan quotes in order to help them get their hands on the new models.

Production of the MG TF restarted at Longbridge in 2007 after three years of inactivity at the site.

Prices and dealers of the new models have not yet been released so potential Car Finance customers will have to wait a little longer to start doing their numbers.

The TF was known as one of the world's most affordable mid-engined convertibles.ADNFCR-1366-ID-18557293-ADNFCR
