Motor firm MITSUBISHI can boast an extra reason for drivers to go for its models after renewing a contract with a government department.

The firm says its deal to supply 4x4 vehicles to the UK Environment Agency has been sealed for a second term.

People thinking of buying a new 4x4 with a car loan could be interested to know the agency has now been using the company's L200 pick-up since 2004.

Fleet operations contracts manager for the Environment Agency Tony Sale explains: "Value for money, environmental considerations and fit for purpose in carrying out work were the key factors considered in the renewal of the contract."

Mitsubishi says the agency uses its fleet of off-road vehicles to patrol water shores and monitor parts of the countryside for fly-tipping, which all require a four-wheel drive.

The Environment Agency was heavily involved in monitoring the heavy flooding seen in parts of the UK last year and also monitors air quality.

Potential car loan customers could also be interested in the fact Mitsubishi will also supply the Agency with Outlander 4Works, the "commercial version" of Mitsubishi's mid-size 4x4.ADNFCR-1366-ID-18560024-ADNFCR
