Mitsubishi’s and Subaru’s diesel variants

The company is planning to come out with the diesel variant for its STi model like MITSUBISHI is doing for its EVO. In the case of Mitsubishi, they are seriously thinking of doing away with the Lancer Evolution and they have also decided against going in for any petrol-hybrid model.
If Mitsubishi does turn the EVO into a diesel only model, then the company would find it difficult to sell it in the Japanese and US markets. The intention and motivation however seem to be to maintain and keep CO2 emission levels low and much below the 200 g/km limit. This new set up will enable the EVO to surge to 60mph in well under five seconds.
As for the Subaru, the diesel version will be out in the year 2012 and the engine would be a better and power boosted one of the current two liter diesels that are serving the Impreza models.
All these changes would be well taken by customers who would be more than willing to buy them using Car Finance schemes and Car Loans.
