Mitsubishi unveils low carbon car

Car manufacturer MITSUBISHI has unveiled the first images of its Colt ClearTec, which it has specially wrapped to highlight the vehicle's environmental credentials.

The firm is submitting the model in this year's Revolve Eco-Rally on Monday June 8th, which sees a host of eco-friendly vehicles making their way from Brighton to London to highlight the issue of climate change and promote the use of more environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Mitsubishi's Colt ClearTec uses new technology to ensure the vehicle is producing the lowest possible carbon emissions, while also offering more miles to the gallon.

"The Colt CZ2 ClearTec reduces CO2 emissions by 24g/km (17per cent) to 119g/km over the regular CZ2," the company stated.

As well as showing off its environmental credentials, the new wrap for the car is also aimed at highlighting the car's "funky design", Mitsubishi added.

Earlier this year, Mitsubishi announced the launch of what it described as its fastest and most extreme Lancer Evolution ever created.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X FQ-400 is the tenth version of the company's iconic Lancer Evolution models.
