'Greener' vehicles among popular new cars for sale

Car Finance customers considering a new car could be interested in the news that alternative-fuel cars are finally becoming popular with UK motorists.
Those browsing the market of new cars for sale could be among those who vehicle auctioneers BCA said were showing a "sudden but blossoming interest" in eco and alternative fuels.
According to the firm, prices for hybrid and electric cars are now ahead of those for more traditional vehicles.
Tim Naylor of BCA said: "The key issue for 'green', alternative fuelled cars is acceptability with the general motoring public, because they will drive the demand in the used market."
He added soaring prices at the petrol pumps could be among the reasons behind the increases.
Mr Naylor said the rising fuel costs were succeeding where transport policies had "failed" to make drivers go green.
The Guardian newspaper recently reported that petrol prices could now be causing some drivers to shun trips to out-of-town shopping centres.
