A Look at Vauxhall Ampera

Sep 24 2009

General Motors hopes to save the day with the Launch of the Vauxhall Ampera. The Vauxhall Ampera is also known as Opel Ampera and as Chevrolet Volt. The Vauxhall Ampera differs from other hybrid cars as it is always driven by a 100bhp electric motor. It can run up to forty miles on its lithium charged batteries. Once the batteries start to run out a 1.4L petrol engine cuts in to charge the batteries. The car can be driven for 300 miles before the 15 litre fuel tank requires to be filled. As a city car, or even for motorway driving, the Vauxhall Ampera will be a competent car. Its top speed is limited to 100mph and the car is quite simple to drive. The Vauxhall Ampera is expected to go on sale in 2012.

This may seem a long way off to wait to get a car that promises to cut down fuel costs tremendously, but it will be a car that is worth waiting for. There would be no point in looking for car finance at this point as Vauxhall has not announced the price. There maybe further developments done to the Vauxhall Ampera and Vauxhall dealers would also offer car finance once they start booking orders.
