When one signs up for a car loan, it always feels good to know that some or other celebrity is driving a similar car. Most of us will be quite happy if it is the celebrity’s secretary who drives the car in question.
If your hero happens to be the famous American artist and songwriter called Akon, you will have to buy a Spyker C8 if you want to be in the same league, since this is his car of choice for 2012.
Akon’s Spyker comes complete with SV-29 Centerlock wheels forged by Savini. It might not be the most attractively tuned C8 on the planet, but there is no reason to be surprised: we all know rap artists do not have conventional tastes when it comes to tuning their cars.
The good news is that Akon did not ruin the Spyker’s exterior, as some of his lesser counterparts might have done – he simply had the car’s interior updated to fit his somewhat peculiar tastes. The car’s custom yellowish colour is enough to drive many people to drink, although if you are familiar with the paint jobs seen on some other rap artists’ cars it might actually be considered to be rather subdued.
Akon took his car to Exclusive Motoring in Miami, Florida to have it customised. This included the vehicle being fitted with a set of 20-inch Centerlock rims with custom paint.
In case you wondered whether this is Akon’s only car: it is not. He also owns a Murcielago, a Gallardo, a Ferrari 458 Italia and a Porsche Panamera.
