Car or van loan customers in Bradford, West Yorkshire, may be interested to read that some parts of their city are rife with insurance dodgers.
According to the BBC, the Motor Insurers' Bureau (MIB) has found that in some areas such as the BD3 postcode of the city, the rate of vehicles not covered by insurance is as high at 57.3 per cent.
Police in the area have launched Operation Maximum Impact to drive down the number of motorists dodging their insurance costs.
Sergeant Paul Richardson commented: "It's an absolute offence to have no insurance and if you are caught driving on the roads of West Yorkshire you will have your car seized and you will either be issued with a £200 fixed penalty notice or find yourself appearing before magistrates."
The MIB discovered that drivers in the postal area are six times more likely to be hit by an uninsured motorist than in other areas.
