Used car buyers visiting auction recently may have found van values had fallen only slightly.
According to British Car Auction (BCA) figures, unsecured car loan holders were able to pick a light commercial vehicle for an average of £3,190 in September.
The organisation claimed that average values fell by three-quarters of a per cent last month, significantly less than previous monthly declines.
Duncan Ward, UK business development manager for commercial vehicles at BCA, said: "Although it would be misleading to say the market came back with a vengeance in September, there was an upturn in activity in the auction halls and a fragile confidence returned to the marketplace."
There were more buyers last month, while interest in "clean, straight" commercial vehicles was also noticeably greater, the expert stated.
Consequently, van values appeared to "stabilise" between August and September, he added.
Those carrying out Used Car Searches may be interested to learn that the BCA found used car values fell by £200 in August to an average of £4,765.
