The market for light commercial vehicles (LCVs) is strong, one auto servicing firm has claimed.
More Britons may have invested in a van loan in the last quarter of 2007 and the first quarter of 2008, as figures from Manheim show that the volume of such vehicles for sale during the period surpassed expectations.
Average selling prices were seen to fall slightly following a period of strong demand and insufficient supply, the firm states.
Commenting on the findings, Alex Wright, Manheim's commercial vehicles sales director, said: "This latest LCV Market Analysis Report from Manheim reinforces our belief that the market has remained robust despite the recent economic uncertainties; however, it is also clear that following two years of exceptional performance in the LCV market, fuelled by shortage of used stock and high levels of demand, a price re-alignment was inevitable."
Meanwhile, the Retail Motor Industry Federation's National Franchised Dealers Association recently claimed that vehicle credit could be positively impacted on by the recent interest rate drop made by the Bank of England.
