Teenagers are being offered the chance to attend a one-day driving course for free next week.
The workshop is aimed at educating young car insurance customers and other drivers between the ages of 15 and 19 about the responsibilities of being in charge of a vehicle.
Participants are to be offered tips on driving on motorways, first aid in the event of an accident and what to look out for when buying a second-hand car.
According to Wokingham borough council, a third of new drivers are involved in road accidents in the first two years after passing their test.
Rob McDonnell, senior traffic management engineer, said: "Road users need to appreciate that to own a motor vehicle is a huge responsibility."
The event is set to be held on Wednesday April 16th at Woodley Airfield Youth and Community Centre.
Thames Valley Police last week announced the launch of a Young Driver Scheme which will serve to educate driving offenders under the age of 25.
It claimed the leading cause of death among 16 to 25-year-olds is road collisions.
