A number of key petrol refineries across the UK are to be blocked this weekend by fuel price protestors.
In a similar action to that which caused the 2000 fuel shortage, protestors in a group called TransAction 2007 plan to start the blockade on Saturday in opposition to rising petrol prices and government taxes.
Car Loans customers may remember that similar action taken seven years ago had a major effect on the British economy and resulted in the government freezing tax on petrol for a short period of time. Car loans customers across the UK are likely to be affected.
A statement by TransAction 2007 said: "This action will be initiated at a refinery or storage depot somewhere near you. Anyone wishing to support action is requested to make your way there at the allotted time. TransAction again wishes to emphasise the importance of legal protesting."
As of December 10th, the average price for a litre of unleaded in the UK stood at 102.9p.
