Honda too shows healthy profit

Jun 3 2010
The recession had its impact on the auto industry with slackening sales leading to huge build up of inventory. This forced them to offer great incentives to buyers of first hand cars so that they could get rid of the inventory. They also tried to push sales through innovative car loan and car credit plans and were successful to some extent. It also led to the used car market showing great demand and interest as people saw better commercial sense in buying used cars at good car finance rates of interest.
All those efforts seem to have borne fruit finally with the month of April seeing a great uptake in sales volume for most car manufacturers. After Ford, Nissan and Chrysler reported excellent figures for April, Honda too has reported a very healthy profit figure for the year. The Japanese car maker has reported a twenty eight percent increase is sales volume and says this resurgence is due to healthy demand in the Chinese and Indian markets. Its markets in the US as well as Europe has also shown good revival in volumes and that has prompted the car maker to project a very good year going ahead.
