Car Finance customers could switch their attention to Japanese cars after a survey ranked them among the most reliable.
Research by Which? Car could convince car loan customers to look to the east, with Japanese firms covering all of the top seven slots when UK drivers are asked to rank vehicles in terms of brand reliability.
HONDA came first with a reliability rating of 85 per cent, with TOYOTA in second on 84 per cent and Daihatsu third with 83 per cent.
Which? Car editor Richard Headland said: "Japan continues to show the rest of the world how to make consistently reliable cars, although the new Honda Civic shows they're not infallible."
Atfer picking up 82 per cent in the medium cars category the Honda Civic was named in joint-bottom spot in this section.
Honda also builds the Jazz model, which is capable of travelling 450 miles on one tank of petrol.
