London Green car Hire Firm Acquires Renault Fluence Z.E.s

Greentomatocars, a London-based “Green” car hire firm has expanded its fleet with the acquisition of two Renault Z.E. vehicles.  For those of us who are still cautious about signing up for an auto loan deal on an electric vehicle, it provides a good opportunity to drive the new Renault for a few days before making a final decision.

The MD and co-founder of the company, Jonny Goldstone, said “We’re delighted to be taking delivery of the industry’s first two EVs and already know that our clients will be as impressed by their performance and credentials as we are.”

He added that he was confident that customers would prefer to make a green decision when renting a car.

Goldstone also hinted that his company would be expanding its range of zero emission vehicles during 2012.

The 115-mile range of the Renault Fluence Z.E. should be more than sufficient for the average London driver, but even if they should run out of power during an unusually busy day, they can recharge at any public electric charging point in or around London.

The Head of Electric Vehicle Planning at Renault UK, Andy Heiron, was more than happy about Greentomatocars’ decision.

He said “We are delighted to have teamed up with Greentomatocars who have consistently provided innovative solutions in London’s private hire market.”

Heiron also added that they were looking forward to working with the company in future.  The Renault Fluence Z.E., he said, was a comfortable, sleek and spacious car well-suited to the needs of London’s demanding drivers.
