Drivers with Car Finance deals might want to consider following the lead of motorists who are looking into innovative new ways of protecting their vehicles' security.
According to Car Parts Direct, an auto components company, there has been a rise in the number of Britons - potentially including car finance customers - using car covers to help protect their vehicles from crime.
Car covers are more often used to safeguard a vehicle from weather factors such as frost.
The firm states that drivers are increasingly using the covers at work, in long stay car parks and at railways stations.
Spokesman Mark Cornwall added: "Owners cover their car when parked outside their homes. It helps prevent mindless damage and can avoid their vehicle being stolen."
Meanwhile, other ways of enhancing a vehicle's safety could be to fit an immobiliser and make sure that valuables are not on display, the Home Office suggests.
