Nissan’s Zero Emission Vehicle

Apr 24 2010
Trust Nissan to catch up with the other car makers on coming out with environment friendly vehicles. With the launch of its LEAF zero emission electric car in Japan this year to be followed by its introduction in the US markets by 2012 and production at its UK Sunderland plant, the car maker has ensured that it is going to be a major force in this segment as well. This car will be available through the best of car finance and car credit options to the consumer.
Nissan is planning to roll out more than 50,000 such vehicles from its Sunderland plant and has expressed its confidence in the UK workforce. It has also recognised the skills, the innovation and research facilities available in the UK along with the logistical advantages present in the country. The UK government is also willing to extend all support to the car maker in its quest to provide a much cleaner environment to its citizens and make UK a major hub for producing such low carbon vehicles.
Nissan has also planned to put up a state of the art lithium-ion battery factory at Sunderland coming this April with a capacity of more than 60,000 batteries in a year. This plant will produce for Nissan as well as Renault.
