BMW has always prided itself on its ability to come out with ideas and technology which will help produce cars that are able to deliver more for less. That is the reason why this brand has been at the forefront of innovation and command a premium. It is another matter that due to its high cost, not many can af FORD to buy them outright and have to rely on suitable Car Finance and car loan schemes to be able to enjoy the driving pleasure so commonly associated with this brand.
The company strongly believes in the “virtual displacement” theory and have often proved that their smaller engines are able to outperform the conventional bigger engines despite the former’s smaller displacement. They have already displayed this characteristic with the BMW 750i version, where the V-8 engine proved itself equal to the larger V12 engine that was used with the earlier models. The concept of virtual displacement works such that even smaller engines are able to deliver better fuel efficiency and emit low CO2 without compromising on the power and that has been the differentiating factor.
The 2011 BMW 740i as well as the 740Li are also expected to feature this concept and that is good news for the customer.
