FORD that has been at work on its Interceptor Police Car for some time now is hopeful that it can replace the Crown Victoria that is being commissioned out by the end of September 2011. The Police Car has a complete look about it and seems set to meet the challenges faced by the modern police force. This vehicle has been engineered to near perfection and will go a long way in supporting the brave men who often risk their lives for our protection.
Though some details about the Power train are still awaited, it is clear that the highway patrol will get the more enhanced Ecoboost model. That should help maintain fuel efficiency without any compromise on performance. The AWD will also be a standard feature on these models. They will also have the all wheel-drive convenience.
Ford has also confirmed that they will work on yet another model of the Police Interceptor, which will be used more for hot pursuit and will complement this one. Details about it will be known later in the year.
Needless to say, these will not be available to the general public on any car loan schemes.
Ford has been the preferred vehicle maker for the police force for the last 15 years.
