Ever since TOYOTA introduced their hybrid version way back in 1997 and in a sense showed the way to other auto companies to emulate them and come out with environment friendly cars, the results have been very encouraging. With more than two million Toyota Hybrids on UK roads, the reduction in CO2 gas emitted has been a whopping 11 million tones. The fact that these cars were sold and made available to the public through affordable Car Credit loan schemes ensured that people could purchase them and contribute their bit to a better environment.
This piece of good news about the impact on the environment has been welcomed by the industry and Toyota in particular. It has indicated its intention to launch more hybrid models. The company is very keen to offer the hybrid version for all its models and is investing heavily in research and development as well as its production platforms to meet that objective. Currently only the Lexus brand can offer all the three hybrid variants in its range and the popularity of these vehicles is borne out by the fact that they contribute close to 50% of sales.
