Toyota into fresh SUV problems

May 21 2010
The last couple of years have been really bad for this Japanese major. Having built a reputation of being a stickler for quality and excellence, the problems that have surfaced pertaining to customer safety has really jolted a lot of auto enthusiasts and Toyota fans in particular.
Just when it is recovering from its previous issues, a new one is threatening to tarnish its solid reputation again. This is related to a warning issued by Consumer Reports about its 2010 Lexus GX 460. It seems that this vehicle would be prone to rollover accidents and Toyota has responded immediately by freezing any further sales of this SUV that many were buying taking the help of approved car finance credit schemes.
Though Toyota has not come out with a confirmation, its engineers are putting the SUV through a series of grueling tests yet again and simulating conditions to see whether there is indeed the danger as mentioned.
Customers who have already purchased the vehicle will be provided with a loaner vehicle till the problem has been resolved. Consumer Reports has built a reputation for being a magazine that provides unbiased reviews and is taken seriously by most auto manufacturers for this reason.
