The launch of the BMW Concept ActiveE has enabled BMW to experiment with a different offering in terms of the packaging of the various components in the vehicle and presenting it as a Megacity Vehicle. This intelligent experimentation with the drive components in particular of the current BMW 1 Series Coupe has allowed them to offer four seats along with a luggage holding capacity of over 200 litres has really propelled it into the Megacity Vehicle category and will be available in the UK on easy UK Car Credit and UK car loan terms.
The BMW Concept ActiveE has a motor specifically configured and placed at the rear axle helping it to deliver a power of 125kw/170Hp with a maximum torque of 250 Nm/184 lb-ft and makes it the ideal vehicle that combines economy with performance. The sophisticated lithium-ion battery that has been developed by both BMW and SB LiMotive specifically for the BMW Concept ActiveE can last up to 100 miles of daily running and is a very intelligent system. Another advantage with this battery package is that the charging duration is short and on the European grid, it takes only three hours for the pack of batteries to get fully charged. In the US, the charging duration is slightly higher at 4.5 hours.
