Car manufacturers are responding to environmental pressure from Car Finance consumers and are adjusting their green credentials, a leading expert claims.

The editor of Autocar magazine suggests that international calls to reduce the environmental impact of vehicles is causing a change in industry attitudes and policies, potentially benefiting Car Loans customers with greener, more efficient vehicles.

Chas Hallett told BBC Radio 5: "There is a huge mounting pressure on car makers to [release] more environmentally friendly models but to be fair they do seem to be responding at the moment."

Motor industry professionals are flocking to Geneva this week for the 78th International Motor Show, with new product launches, exhibitions and events from some of the world's biggest names. Those with approved car loans will be watching the show closely to learn more about cutting-edge new motoring technology.

Speaking to the radio station's Wake Up To Money programme, Mr Hallett stated that "everyone's got some sort of environmental concept" at the moment and is showcasing it in Geneva. He claims that the auto show is focused on concepts and production cars with lower emissions and cleaner running that can help those with Personal Car Loans to cut their fuel costs.

Japanese carmaker TOYOTA has unveiled its new iQ city car in Geneva with a choice of diesel and gasoline engines. The finished version of the iQ city car measures just 117.51 inches and seats four people, running on a small and fuel-efficient engine, with low carbon dioxide emissions.
