Drivers who have purchased their car using Car Finance are among those who have been called upon by the RAC Foundation to carry out essential safety checks.
The organisation has urged all drivers to make the most of the extra hour of daylight provided by the switch to British Summer Time and carry out some simple checks of lights, brakes and tyres.
"It's very easy to get complacent about vehicle checks, but essential safety items like lights, tyres and brakes should be checked regularly," said Sheila Rainger, acting director of the RAC.
She added that the extra hour of evening light this weekend is an "ideal opportunity" to carry out vehicle checks.
Earlier this month TyreSafe called on drivers to carry out some simple checks before setting off on a journey.
The safety organisation suggested drivers partake in a five-minute check of their tyres to ensure they can cope with the wet conditions that were troubling areas of the UK.
