Young Car Finance customers can still get a competitive deal on their motor insurance despite some insurers withdrawing their policies for this demographic.
According to the Association of British Insurers, young people may have to shop around to find the best deal, but there are still some available from mainstream and specialist policy providers.
Spokesman Malcolm Tarling commented: "The cost and availability of insurance for young drivers is an issue and there are some insurers that feel unable to offer cover for them for the simple reason that they are much more likely to be involved in an accident and they are much more likely to claim."
But he added that drivers could also receive better policies if they take part in the Pass Plus scheme.
The initiative often ensures that upon passing, young motorists can receive substantial discounts on the price of their policy.
