Female car loans customers 'seek out gadgets'

Female motorists looking to buy a new car, including those using Car Finance for their purchase, put gadgets at the top of their most-wanted list, according to research.

A survey conducted on behalf of GM Fleet shows that most women want a satnav system built in to their new car.

Meanwhile, nearly a third say a music system upgrade with MP3 dock is important and just under one in five want to ensure they can drive in comfort with climate control.

Other options women motorists would look for in a new car include sun roofs, parking sensors and infotainment systems.

However, less than one in ten state that environmental credentials or lower fuel consumption are important factors, even though they could lead to lower car insurance costs.

In fact, women motorists who drive green cars could see their fuel costs fall as well, Which? said this week.
