Females "not whiter than white" when it comes to driving offences

Male Car Finance customers may be more likely than their female counterparts to commit motoring offences, but one firm has said that women drivers are not "whiter than white".
According to Confused.com, the issue of people committing crimes at the wheel needs to be tackled jointly by car insurance firms and comparison sites, targeting both men and women.
Debra Williams, managing director of Confused.com, said: "Although men have been highlighted as the biggest offenders, women are still not whiter than white.
"The problem needs to be tackled generally and across the board, with both men and women being increasingly taken to task for avoidable offences."
Findings by the firm published last month show that 2.3 million males were convicted for motoring offences in 2007 compared with 920,000 women, with speeding found to be the main offence committed across both genders.
