The finance you need The car you want

Car News

Feb 5 2008

Drivers who have invested in Car Finance to purchase the vehicle of their dreams but who break the law through illegal motoring habits may be set to face a citizen-founded crackdown.

A website has been established whereby motorists can report other drivers they have seen breaking the law, the York Press has reported.

Visitors to the BetterDrivingPlease.com website can then see this information, including the offender's car registration details, with police also being given access to the data, potentially providing scope for the drivers to be penalised.

The portal's creator Andrew McGavin stated: "The idea behind the website is that anybody can report bad driving which they see with their own eyes and can tick a box where they agree to their details being given to police."

Research by website lawontheweb.com has shown that drivers who receive six points on their licence could see their insurance fees increase by up to 44 per cent.
