The world's cheapest car has gone on show in India aimed at giving people in developing countries access to reliable transport.
Tata Motors unveiled the Tata Nano in Delhi and announced that it will be priced at 100,000 rupees, the equivalent of £1,277.
Car Loans and Car Finance customers may like to know that the four-door, five-seater vehicle will come with no air conditioning and no power steering. An annual demand of one million Nanos is expected within five years.
However, environmental protestors claim such a car will increase harmful carbon dioxide emissions and speed up global warming.
Tony Bosworth, from Friends of the Earth UK, told the Independent: "The Tata Nano makes motoring cheaper and growing car sales in India will lead to big rises in carbon dioxide emissions."
