Convertible cars may not be the most topical of vehicles as the winter chill bites but the best time of the year for Car Loans customers to buy one is now, a leading expert has claimed.
Prices of convertible cars drop during the colder months as car loans are often spent on other models, meaning motorists could find a bargain, British Car Auctions (BCA) said.
According to the organisation, the average price of a soft-top car drops from £15,000 in July to around £11,000 in January, as consumer interest wanes. As a result, car loans and Car Finance agreements can often stretch further.
Tim Naylor, PR manager at BCA, said: "Convertibles are always good sellers, but they tend [to] be more seasonal than other models, making winter a prime time for bargain hunters. When the prices and temperatures go sky high next summer, this winter's savvy buyers will already be cruising in the sunshine."
Convertible cars, or cabriolets, are usually two-door vehicles.
