In news that may be saddening to Car Credit customers with a passion for vehicles, the decision has been made to cancel the 2010 British International Motor Show.
The announcement has been made by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) as a result of the global economic downturn, which has placed the automotive sector under pressure, the organisation has said.
"Both SMMT and the industry are committed to displaying the achievements of the sector but in a way that better reflects the changing dynamics of the industry," commented SMMT chief executive Paul Everitt.
However, car credit customers may be buoyed by the news that vehicle manufacturers are committed to holding an event that will showcase the country's car industry, SMMT spokesperson Nikki Rooke told the BBC.
Mr Everitt added that making the decision was particularly difficult because the show is hugely popular and has attracted increasing numbers of visitors in recent years.
On behalf of the show's organisers - International Motor Industry Events, joint managing director Rob Mackenzie said the event will be postponed until market conditions improve.
