The rotary engine coupe of the MAZDA really made a big impact when it was introduced as it really lent great power to the car. The flip side was that it also was a fuel guzzler, but people took to it quite enthusiastically way back in 2003 and this feature was one of its main selling points. The car was also backed up heavily by some very good Car Finance schemes as well as used Car Loans which enabled brisk sales.
The other difference was the suicide doors that opened in the opposite direction and its leather interiors also gave the car a great look and feel. After this initial model, variations and other modified models were made available in quick succession. However, it was the 190 and the 230 bhp versions that continue to be popular till today. These cars are not so big on space at the back but they are convenient for four adults and some luggage to get accommodated.
In terms of performance, the Mazda RX-8 is not a disappointment and is a very smooth drive giving you no cause to complain. The only negative aspect of this car is the high fuel consumption.
Of course, a coupe is only as good as the performance it has to match the funky looks and in this case, the Mazda RX-8 doesn’t disappoint. It can rev all the way to 9,000rpm and does so in such a smooth fashion it’ll take your breath away. It is quite unlike anything else.
