MITSUBISHI engineers decided not to rest on their laurels after the success of the electric i-MiEV. They decided to target the small delivery van market and unveiled the Mitsubishi i-MiEV Cargo at the Tokyo Motor Show. The Mitsubishi i-MiEV Cargo looks like the Mitsubishi i-MiEV with a huge box stuck on the back. The Mitsubishi i-MiEV Cargo can be used to make deliveries or family recreation. There are lithium batteries that drive independent electric motors on the wheels. Mitsubishi has gone with this technology to do away with drive shafts, transmissions, etc.
The Mitsubishi i-MiEV Cargo is a nice looking vehicle and although production dates have not been announced, we should see it on the roads soon. There are only two front seats in the Mitsubishi i-MiEV Cargo and the cargo space can carry 62 cubic feet of stuff. Delivery van owners and people looking for a zero emission vehicle can start planning on buying this car soon. It would be too early to search for Car Loans as the price has not been announced. Zero emissions means saving on road tax, fuel and in certain places, parking charges. The Mitsubishi i-MiEV Cargo will generate a lot of interest among delivery services businesses. Once the price and production dates are announced, people would start searching car loans.
