Mondeo 'best for Irish finance customers'

The FORD Mondeo has been voted the best car for Irish Car Credit customers, it has emerged.
At an event in Dublin, the Mondeo was voted Irish Car of the Year 2008 by the Irish Motoring Writers Association, reports the Athlone Advertiser.
The Mondeo won 122 points, beating the Kia Cee'd, which had 104 points, into second place. Points were awarded on various criteria, such as safety, comfort, build quality and cost.
Eddie Murphy, managing director of Ford Ireland, said: "It's great to have the acclaim the Mondeo has been receiving made official with this prestigious award.
"Given the wide criteria involved, any winner has to be an all-rounder and we believe the Mondeo does triumph on this score."
Mr Murphy went on to say that Ford expects to shift more than 7,000 Mondeos in Ireland next year.
The Ford Mondeo has also been awarded first prize by the Caravan Club, which named it Towcar of the Year 2008.
