Motorists in Oxfordshire are being targeted by police and council officials in a bid to encourage more people to wear seatbelts.
Buckling up could help motorists with Car Finance deals to avoid becoming seriously injured should an incident occur.
Figures have highlighted that of the 152 car occupants who lost their lives in accidents last year in the county, about half would not have been wearing a seatbelt, while eight in ten could have been saved if they had belted up.
Road safety officer for Oxfordshire county council Julie Jones said: "It is so frustrating that so many people have been seriously injured or died totally unnecessarily. Events such as these are proven to make people change their behaviour through education rather than punishment."
Drivers will be given the choice of paying a penalty or attending a seminar about the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
Last month, the Department for Transport revealed that 60,000 lives have been saved since seatbelts were introduced 25 years ago.
